This CDL Ceramide Serum with Glutathione, Dragon Blood is really quite fascinating to me. When I ordered this, I thought that the "dragon's blood" mentioned was a mineral derivative of a stone "Dragon's Blood Stone" which is a green jasper, with splotches of red, and is so beautiful. I recently tried a serum that was infused with Malachite, which also is a type of stone, so it wouldn't have been outside the realm of possibility. However, on looking up what Dragon Blood is, it turns out that it is actually an ancient herbal plant remedy, made from a red resin that oozes from several different types of plants it seems. It is well known skincare additive for its potential to reduce redness, hydrate and plump up skin. It is well known and used often in Asian skincare. I'm not certain if there is enough of it in this serum to be effective in and of itself because I'm assuming that the sparse red capsules suspended throughout the translucent serum, are the Dragon Blood. The other ingredients are also good however. Glutathione is a separate skincare ingredient and one that has become a recent favorite for me in middle age. Many of the most effective skincare products I've tried recently all seem to revolve around Glutathione as a main ingredient included. It is purportedly a strong antioxidant. Ceramides help to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. This serum applies to my middle-aged skin well and has a good feel on it. No irritation from it. So far, I love it! Will take a little time to see if it becomes one of my favored serums or not, but I think this one seems to have so much potential to it!
