I’m in that honeymoon period two weeks after buying a new car, and obsessing about things like how do I keep my new light tan leather seats looking like this and not looking wrinkly and cracking 5 years from now? And, how do I prevent the blue jean dye transfer that has already happened with two days of jeans wearing? From everything I’ve read, you can’t really prevent the blue jeans transfer (other than the obvious solution) but you can make it easier to remove. Hopefully this product will do that. I will report back. It goes on super easy, and like it says, it has a matte finish, not shiny. After wiping down the seats with a damp microfiber towel, I put this on an applicator pad, and rubbed it a little into the pad with my fingers so it wouldn’t glom off into the perforated leather openings. It went on very easy and doesn’t go in the perforations. The smell is perfect. Smells just like new car leather, and is very subtle, not overpowering. I was worried about ruining my new leather smell with something perfume-y, but this didn’t. It has a faint chemical/leather smell, and it truly smells very close to the smell of new car leather. In fact, I wondered as I was putting it on if the manufacturer coats the seats with something like this because the smell is so close. After application, I wiped off with a microfiber towel per the directions, but there wasn’t much to wipe off - it goes on very light and dries quickly. After finishing, you can tell there is a very light barrier, but it is subtle. This is exactly what I wanted for my new seats, it seems like a high quality product, and I couldn’t be happier. I will report back on how well it combats blue jean dye transfer. I’m not expecting it to prevent it, but hopefully it comes off easy.EDIT 2/18 I promised to come back and report how it deals with blue jeans. As expected, it doesn’t prevent it, but it does seem to make it come off easier. I used the chem guys sprayable leather cleaner and it comes right off. Can’t say if it would come off anyway.
